Movie Plot
In COVID-19-ravaged Sri Lanka, Tourist Family is a film about the struggle of a Tamil family trying to survive economic hardships and political unrest. M. Sasikumar plays Das, a blue-collar worker who attempts to keep his family together amidst chaos. Simran portrays his wife Vasanthi, bringing solidity and emotional depth to the narrative. With their children, played by Mithun Jai Sankar and Kamalesh, the family embarks on a perilous journey across borders in search of hope.
The film gets the pathos and the humor just so balanced, with great support from actors like Yogi Babu, M. S. Bhaskar, and Ramesh Thilak. Plainly and sincerely, Abishan Jeevinth brings alive in his narration the ground reality of the displaced families.
