Uppu Kappurambu OTT Release: Keerthy and Suhas Satire

Keerthy Suresh and Suhas are back with a refreshing rural comedy in Uppu Kappurambu, a film that blends satire, humour, and subtle social commentary. Directed by Ani IV Sasi, the movie is set in a fictional Telugu village in the 1990s and brings together a lively cast of characters dealing with an unusually strange problem. The film has already sparked curiosity for its unique theme and nostalgic backdrop.

Streaming exclusively on Amazon Prime Video, Uppu Kappurambu offers a blend of wit and warmth, promising both laughter and thought. With its vintage setting, eccentric characters, and grounded storytelling, it is expected to be a delightful addition to Telugu cinema's growing OTT success.

About the Movie

Uppu Kappurambu is set in Chitti Jayapuram, a fictional village somewhere in South India, during the mid 1990s. The plot revolves around a surprisingly serious yet humorous issue—the village cemetery is running out of burial space. What could have been a dark and emotional storyline is instead presented through smart satire, with the villagers reacting in hilarious yet meaningful ways.

Keerthy Suresh plays a spirited village resident, while Suhas adds his signature charm and wit. Together, they lead a story filled with funny confrontations, quirky solutions, and heartfelt moments. The screenplay uses absurdity to highlight deeper social concerns—how communities deal with death, legacy, and shared resources—while keeping the tone light and entertaining. The cinematography and 90s village aesthetics lend authenticity and charm to the narrative.
